‘Everyone is aware’ – Spurs coach raves about 16-year-old after hat-trick

Tottenham Hotspur Under-18s coach Stuart Lewis has praised Mikey Moore’s brilliant display against Norwich City over the weekend, insisting that everyone at Spurs is aware of how big a talent the teenager is.

Moore is widely seen as one of the most promising talents in the Spurs academy, with the winger hitting the limelight with his three goals and providing four assists in 10 appearances for the Under-18s last season (Transfermarkt).

The teenager signed his first professional contract back in June, with Fabrizio Romano revealing at the time that Daniel Levy and the Spurs board fought hard to keep the youngster at the club as he was attracting interest from several European sides.

This was also backed up by Alasdair Gold, who said on his YouTube channel last month that Tottenham fought off some eye-watering offers for the 16-year-old during the summer.

The versatile attacker has made a strong start to the season and he was once again the start of the show for the Under-18s over the weekend, netting a hat-trick in their 7-2 win over Norwich.

Mikey Moore is impressing at Tottenham

Speaking on the back of the demolition, Lewis told the club’s official website about Moore’s display: “Everyone’s aware I think that he’s a really exciting prospect with good potential. I thought his work epitomised us really in our play and his off-the-ball work and how he pressed and got after the ball.

“And then some of his work on the ball was outstanding and I think he deserved his hat-trick. He’s in good goalscoring form and collectively it was a good performance, but really pleased for Mikey [Moore], he’s trained really well recently and he deserved those three goals today.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We have some outstanding talents coming through the ranks of our academy at the moment, with Moore arguably being the most exciting prospect of the lot.

The fact that we now have Ange in charge should hopefully mean that the pathway to the first team is a little more straightforward for these youngsters.
