First Bennetts, then Griffiths; now another Spurs starlet is liked with exit

Marcus Edwards looks set to be the next highly-rated youngster to depart Tottenham Hotspur with Bayer Leverkusen said to be interested, according to The Sun.

Edwards was tipped for a bright future at Tottenham, when he made his first-team debut at 17 but has failed to live up to his talent since.

Mauricio Pochettino once likened the midfielder to Lionel Messi, however his poor attitude and lack of time keeping saw Norwich City cancel his loan spell last season in which played just six minutes of first-team football.

The 19-year-old still has two years to run on his professional deal at Spurs and the German outfit are reported to have made contact with Spurs officials to begin initial talks over a move before the transfer window closes next Thursday.

Edwards would join Reo Griffiths and Keanan Bennetts in departing the club this summer.
