Former Spurs defender suggests there is ‘something weird’ happening at the club

Football pundit Jason Cundy has claimed that he has changed his opinion of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham have suffered an indifferent start to the new campaign after struggling to beat Aston Villa, escaping with a point at Manchester City which was followed by a poor display at home to Newcastle United.

Those who watched the match against Newcastle will admit that Spurs looked out of ideas in the final third of the pitch with no player able to provide a creative spark.

Cundy, a former Spurs defender believes that there is something wrong behind the scenes in North London.

Mauricio Pochettino has already revealed that his side are unsettled with the European transfer window still open which makes the future of the likes of Christian Eriksen in North London still uncertain (Sky Sports).

Tottenham now face the prospect of looking to get themselves back on track against North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates.

“This Spurs side have promised so much,” Cundy told talkSPORT.

“I think Pochettino has done a really good job with trying to mess with the big clubs in terms of what Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have spent, and they still produce a brand of football that is attacking and open.

“I like the way he coaches players, he brings young players on, gets the best out of them and makes them better.

“But then you look back on their record over the last year, in all competitions they’ve lost 20 games over the last 12 months – that’s a horrendous record.

“You can’t do that, you can’t keep doing that.

“There’s something weird about Spurs at the moment. Something is definitely not right.”
