Began in his usual fashion, defending with his whole heart and all of his body. Made so many headers early on. For all Sanchez’s vulnerabilities, it was Rose who was arguably at fault for both goals. Perhaps he thought he’d handled for the first one - and had a brain freeze - and, he was marking two players for the second but should have gone with the danger man.

In the end, happy. Happy with a second point away against our ‘big six’ opponents. Happy with a performance of guts and determination and signs that, yes, this team can still play a bit.

Granted, in true derby fashion, it was a ridiculous game and an entertaining one. At times, we showed we can play best as a breaking team (sadly something we will rarely get the opportunity to do). At times, we were on the ropes and looked to have no confidence defensively nor any to keep the ball in midfield.

I’ll take this though … as work in progress. I’d rather be moving forward from this place, as uneven as the performance was.

The energy and determination are good to see and some moments where we looked dangerous and exciting. The confidence and the complete performance will come.
