Interesting that Kane had a much bigger impact than Eriksen when he came on. He does bring so much to Spurs’ game in the attacking half, holding up the ball, bullying his way past defenders, creating threat from nowhere. Walker-Peters acquitted himself well, couple of booming tackles and lots of pace and mobility.

Match Summary

Mauricio Pochettino picked a side to occupy ninety minutes. If we got something out of it – a bonus. So, all concerned are to be congratulated. We’re getting blasé about winning away, we shouldn’t – this was a big win. Still third, five points off City and an away win against a side that Pochettino rightly identified as closer in investment to us than we are to the others in the ‘big six’.

Certainly, for forty-five minutes it was attritional before being illuminated by a fabulous goal from Son. Inevitably, a brighter second half, with Son the provider this time for Man of the Match, Dele Alli.

The warm up act concluded bring on the season defining opportunity at the Nou Camp.
