‘Good physical condition’ – Tottenham star denies any idea of an injury

Tottenham Hotspur captain, Heung-min Son, has allayed any fears that he may be carrying an injury after the game against Wolves at the weekend and insists he is in ‘good physical condition’ right now.

Since the departure of Harry Kane in the summer, Heung-min Son has arguably become the most important player in Tottenham’s squad. Not only is the Korean star the club captain now, but he is also leading the attacking line with plenty of goals, too.

The 31-year-old has scored eight goals already this season (Transfermarkt), and appears to be back to his best after a difficult spell last year which was tarnished by injury issues and poor form.

With the defensive line depleted through Cristian Romero‘s suspension and Micky van de Ven‘s injury, and the creativity of James Maddison will be missing until the New Year, Spurs need Son more than ever.

Heung-min Son confirms he is fully fit

Spurs fans will be delighted to hear Son’s latest update on his condition then, after there were fears he may have been struggling with a slight knock to the groin after the defeat against Wolves recently.

Speaking to Yonhap News Agency during the international break, Son was asked about his potential injury and said: “When playing a game, you get stepped on or kicked. I kick myself sometimes. Other than not being able to sleep due to jet lag, I’m in good physical condition.”

Son now has two international fixtures to prepare for as South Korea look to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The last thing we need right now is an injury to Sonny, too. Hopefully, he makes it out of this international break without any issues and can lead the line against Aston Villa. We really need to get back on track in that game, but it won’t be easy, and we will need Son at his best.
