Schalke could allow Lewis Holtby to join Tottenham this month, according to Managing Director Horst Heldt.
It was announced last week that the German Under-21 international would be moving to White Hart Lane in July subject to a medical, but it appears as if the Bundesliga outfit are open to the possibility of allowing the midfielder to depart for the Lane this month if an agreement can be reached.
Quoted in the Daily Mail, he said: “If Tottenham ask for Holtby in the January window, we will talk to them about it. Nothing has happened yet, but, from our point of view, we are prepared to speak to them.
“It would have to be done quickly, because we would have to find a replacement for him.”
