Tottenham Hotspur failed to maintain their grip on first place in the Premier League table after only managing to draw 1-1 at Crystal Palace.
Harry Kane gave Tottenham the lead 23rd minute with a dipping shot which deceived Palace keeper Vicente Guaita.
However, the Spaniard certainly made amends for his error with a string of brilliant saves to deny Jose Mourinho’s side a vital second.
Palace were by far the best side for the first thirty-five minutes of the second half and punished when Hugo Lloris saw the ball late from a free-kick and could only deflect it out straight into the path of Jeffrey Schlupp to fire home.
The equaliser appeared to lift Tottenham’s game and they had further chances to reclaim the lead through Harry Kane and Eric Dier, only for Guaita to produce an inspired reaction to both efforts to ensure Palace held on to take a point and leave the North Londoners wondering if they will regret the performance come the end of the season.
One thing that should be taken from that, and a few previous games tbf, is that Eric Dier should be our first choice free kick taker #thfc

Bound to happen – could've been at Burnley or at West Brom, it just happened to be today at Palace. When you're satisfied with small margins sometimes those might not be enough.
Jose could shut us up when it all worked out, well… today it didn't. And it's just an ugly feeling.

If you didn’t know better, you’d have thought that was the 11 we started against Antwerp
Got an early lead than just played with no urgency. But the Palace keeeoer probably had the best game of his career, so that tells you something-“yeah, we never won and it feels like a loss” pic.twitter.com/DPqK8Q2M0u

After some of the big results we’ve won this season I’ll take a draw away to Palace, I have a feeling we can win Wednesday! Up the fucking Spurs ??

If there's a criticism to be had of Mourinho (because lord knows some of you need it to get through the day), his subs came way too late. The team were struggling and after 10-15mins, certain players didn't respond, so bring on fresh legs. For me, Lucas for Son was obvious. #THFC

I blame Jose and Hugo for that one. Everyone could see that we needed another change after 60 minute Mark. Bergwijn and NDombele (and even Reg) giving the ball away way to easy. On to the next I guess ?

Sat in disbelief at their goalies performance yes
Want to moan and slag everyone off? No.
Scrappy 2nd half, poor goal to concede but we will have to dust ourselves off and go again Wednesday. #coys

We’re still vulnerable defending free-kicks off the left. Free-kicks leading to goals conceded against Everton, Newcastle, West Ham, and today from identical areas of the pitch. Invited on way too much pressure from Palace in that second half.
