“It’s clear the situation for players like Vincent” – Poch confirms striker’s fate

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Vincent Janssen is not part of his plans going forward.

The Dutch international was left out of Tottenham’s squad for their tour of the United States, where they will face AS Roma, Barcelona and AC Milan in the International Champions Cup competition.

“It’s different personal situations for different players,” Pochettino was quoted by ESPN.

“It’s clear the situation for players like Vincent. But Josh (Onomah) is part of our plans. He’s injured and doing his recovery with Harry Winks. That’s why he’s not here.”

Janssen spent last season on loan at Turkish outfit Fenerbahce and there is hope that he could end up there again for the forthcoming season, hopefully, from our perspective, it will be on a permanent deal. However, Tottenham are likely to stipulate that if he does go out on loan again, they must commit to signing him during the following summer.

He caught Tottenham’s attention after finishing as the top scorer in Eredivisie for AZ Alkmaar after netting 27 goals in 34 appearances, but only managed to score six goals in all competitions during his first season at Spurs.
