Flop Bostock set for MLS loan spell

Tottenham midfielder John Bostock is set to train with MLS side San Jose Earthquakes with the view to a loan deal.

Bostock joined Spurs from Crystal Palace in May 2008 for an initial fee of £700,000 but has failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane under numerous managers. He will travel to with the Quakes this weekend to Portland for pre-season matches.

Bostock will follow in the footsteps of another Spurs player, Simon Dawkins who spent time at the Earthquakes and is now on loan at Aston Villa.

“We’re not closing the door on Simon coming back,” Quakes general manager John Doyle told the Contra Costa Times.

“In the meantime it would be nice to see how John likes us and we how we like him.”

“There are more options out there,” Doyle added. “We’re being thorough in looking at them. We’re making sure we make the right decisions on who comes in. If we don’t bring in John or Simon we still have a good team.”
