Jose Mourinho reveals he has decision to make if player will be involved against Fulham

Jose Mourinho has provided an update on Erik Lamela to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Fulham press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the visit of Scott Parker’s side in the Premier League tomorrow evening.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions meaning that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.

The North Londoners were originally pencilled in to face Aston Villa, however an outbreak of COVID-19 within their squad saw the Premier League reshuffle the fixture schedule and re-arrange the previously postponed game against the Cottagers.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that Erik Lamela is available for tomorrow’s match but took a minute to pause on whether the Argentine will be named in his squad.

Mourinho did not select the midfielder who recently broke COVID-19 guidelines for last week’s win over Brentford or for Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Marine.

He told Football.London when asked about Lamela: (Long pause) He is but I don’t know, but I think you understand what I want to mean. He can be selected for tomorrow, he can. Legally he can but I still have a decision to make.”
