Journalist claims ‘writing is on the wall’ for 26-year-old Tottenham outcast

The Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor says that Tanguy Ndombele does not have a future at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou.

Ndombele has only played a total of 123 minutes across seven matches since his move to Galatasaray in the summer (Transfermarkt) and some reports over the last few weeks have shed light on why that is the case.

Fotospor claimed on October 30 that Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk had lost his patience with the midfielder due to his attitude and lack of professionalism.

The outlet explained that the 26-year-old was 6 kg overweight when he arrived in Istanbul and has still not been successful in reaching the kind of physical condition asked of him.

It was subsequently even suggested by Takvim that Buruk was not overly keen on bringing Ndombele to the club in the first place due to the midfielder’s ‘psychological and mental’ track record.

The 50-year-old allegedly ‘vetoed’ the Spurs man’s signing twice but the Turkish club’s hierarchy decided to get him anyway.

Ndombele is stuck in footballing limbo at Spurs

So, unless things change drastically, it seems like Ndombele’s spell at Galatasaray is not going to prove too fruitful for the player, and Taylor believes the Frenchman’s time at Tottenham is going to end sooner rather than later.

The journalist said on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel: “As for Ndombele I think the writing’s on the wall for him, unfortunately.

“I think it’s pretty clear that Postecoglou who wanted to move him on after what he saw from him in the summer in pre-season when he had a fresh chance to start afresh. It’s a shame because we all know the talent’s there, it’s just not worked out.”

It is clear by now that Ndombele is not particularly motivated to have a decent career at the highest level. Tottenham will likely have no choice but to pay off what is left of the midfielder’s contract as not a lot of clubs would be interested in paying a transfer fee for the former Lyon man.
