Juventus director pours cold water on 20-year-old transfer amid Spurs links

Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna has poured cold water on speculation linking Matias Soule with a move to Tottenham, stating that the youngster will remain on loan at Frosinone until the end of the season

Soule has been a revelation at Frosinone, with the 20-year-old being one of the best attackers on show in the Serie A this campaign, with six goals to his name so far.

Over the last week, multiple outlets (CalcioMercato and JuveLive) have claimed that the Spurs are keen on the Argentine, with the latter adding the Lilywhites could face competition from Newcastle United and Crystal Palace for the 20-year-old.

A couple of days ago, Corriere dello Sport (via TEAMtalk) stated that Palace are expected to be the first ones to make a move for the attacker, with the Eagles said to be preparing a big offer.

The publication alleged that Juve had informed Roy Hodgson’s men that they would have to pay €35m (£30.1m) for the youngster.

Matias Soule will not be transferred in January

However, Manna has now ruled out the prospect of Soule heading to the Premier League next month, insisting that the winger will see out his loan spell at the Stadio Benito Stirpe until the summer.

When asked about the speculation over the youngster’s future, the Juve director told TuttoSport: “I believe that when a footballer starts a journey in a place, he must end it there.

“Especially if it is an important journey like those of Soule, Barrenechea or many other guys. We don’t want to interrupt the good they are doing”.

Manne does not deny that Juventus do have the option to end the loan prematurely if they want to. Despite what he has said above, one would have thought that the Old Lady’s plans would change if they received a big offer for Soule in January, given the Serie A giants’ current financial predicament.
