Lawro and Nicholas predict Spurs vs Leicester

Football ‘pundits’ Charlie Nicholas and Mark Lawrenson have both been predicting the outcome of the Tottenham vs Leicester City FA Cup tie and surprisingly both have tipped us to progress to the fourth round.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: “What a cracker and it’s simply a case of who wants to win it most. What Pochettino is doing at Tottenham is remarkable and that’s coming from an ex-Gunner. Can he afford to leave Harry Kane out for this one?

“It will be a big test for their centre-backs but with no Jamie Vardy that should make it a bit easier for them, he’s a big miss. I think there will be plenty of goals in this but I’m going for Spurs to edge it.

“Prediction: 3-2”

Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “Of the other all-Premier League ties, Tottenham against Leicester is the most interesting.

“The longer the season goes on, the more impressive Spurs look. They have a very good chance of making the top four, but I don’t think they can win the title.

“Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino strikes me as a guy who will put all of his eggs in one basket and concentrate on the Premier League, and Claudio Ranieri is likely to do the same with Leicester.

“Spurs have got a squad that allows Pochettino to make changes, as they have shown in the Europa League, and that could be the difference on Sunday because I am not sure the Foxes have the same.

“Prediction: 2-0.”
