Former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson has appeared to mock Jose Mourinho on Twitter following Liverpool’s emphatic win against Crystal Palace yesterday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s side headed into the Premier League encounter at Selhurst Park on the back of beating Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.
Roberto Firmino headed home a stoppage-time winner to seal a significant win for Liverpool with Tottenham having spurned opportunities through Steven Bergwijn and Harry Kane to take the lead in the second half.
Following the final whistle at Anfield, Mourinho exchanged words with Klopp in which he revealed that he told the German that the better side had lost the match (Amazon Prime / Twitter).
Liverpool put Palace to the sword in a seven-nil thrashing which saw Mane, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Oxlade-Chamberlain and a brace apiece from Firminho and Salah to seal the win.
After the match, the former Sky Sports pundit joked that Eagles boss Roy Hodgson had told Klopp that the better side had lost the match.
