Tottenham face Manchester United this evening in what is our Premier League opener.

United are suffering somewhat of an injury crisis with Vidic, Ferdinand and Rafael all ruled out through injury. COuld this be our chance to get a rare win at Old Trafford?

    • Not with an inexperienced U21 Spaniard in goal and two reserve centrebacks.
Scholes has retired so there'll be no physical presence in midfield to win the ball
from the likes of Kranjcar and Huddlestone.
It's a level playing field tonight…until the ref has to make a controversial decision.

  1. It is a good time to face united, but sadly we are not in an ideal state either. If Modders were playing, I would be pretty confident.
But he is not quite right physically or mentally apparently…
Against a Hearts side that stood back and watched us play, we were able to play with Niko and Livermore in the centre.
Man U will do the opposite, and will not give Niko & Livermore the time of day.
We must wheel out Hudd, and back him up with Kaboul in midfield. Corluka (not ideal I know) needs to switch to CB to replace Kaboul.
Kaboul to protect the rather slow CB pairing of Daws and Corluka. Hudd, when given opportunity, should get forward to pull some strings.
Occasionally Kaboul given the odd licence to bomb forward – as we know that Hudd can do a holding job too.
Defoe up front, as his effectiveness last time out should be rewarded.
Niko & Livermore on hand should things go badly wrong…(i.e. Hudd breaking down, Kaboul or Corluka not working in their makeshift roles).

  2. team for united game…. gomes, walker, dawson, kaboul, ekotto, lennon, huddlestone, krancjaer, bale, vdv, defoe. picks itself tonite i think
