Who Mark Lawrenson thinks will win between Spurs vs Everton

BBC football ‘pundit’ Mark Lawrenson has given his score prediction ahead of this evening’s match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton at Wembley.

Last time out, Lawrenson correctly predicted that Tottenham would beat AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup third round (not exactly a difficult one to guess), but said the score would be 2-0, when in fact it ended as a 3-0 win for Spurs.

Lawrenson has given his backing to Tottenham for today’s game and thinks that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will send Sam Allardyce’s lot back to Merseyside empty handed.

He told BBC Sport Online: “Everton have now lost three games in a row following their FA Cup defeat by Liverpool – and I think Tottenham might make it four.

“We are likely to see the Toffees’ new signing Cenk Tosun at some point – even if boss Sam Allardyce doesn’t start with him up front – but it will take him some time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League.

“Tottenham are just starting to find their stride a little bit – their only defeat in their past eight league games was against Manchester City and the only other game where they have dropped points in that run was against West Ham.

“Allardyce will try to contain Spurs and keep them out, but I don’t think he will manage it.

“Lawro’s prediction: 2-0.”
