“Pathetic display” – Some fans fume after Spurs trail Burnley 1-0 at half-time

Tottenham Hotspur find themselves 1-0 behind at half time against Burnley.

It was yet another painful 45 minutes for the North London faithful to have to witness with Jose Mourinho’s side struggling to make an impact in the match.

The Clarets dominated the proceedings and went ahead after thirteen minutes when the returning Hugo Lloris could only push Jay Rodriguez’s volley into the path of Chris Wood who prodded home from a few yards out.

Tottenham’s central defensive trio of Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier have all looked lost and have struggled to contain Wood and Rodriguez.

Mourinho’s side have often tried to bypass the midfield by playing long balls aimed at Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn which have been comfortably dealt with by Sean Dyche’s side.

Things need to drastically improve in the second half otherwise Spurs face a fifth successive defeat in all competitions.
