Paul Merson on who he thinks will win between Spurs and Fulham

Sky Sports ‘pundit’ Paul Merson has had his say on who he thinks will win today’s Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham at Wembley.

The washed-up former Arsenal and Aston Villa midfielder believes that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will comfortably beat the Premier League newcomers to maintain our 100% record going into Bank Holiday Monday’s trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

The omens for Spurs are good having considered that we have won eight of their last nine Premier League meetings with Fulham, losing only in a home match in March 2013 (0-1).

Tottenham got off to a winning start against Newcastle but haven’t won their first two games to a Premier League campaign since 2014-15, a record we will be hoping to put right this afternoon.

Merson told Sky Sports: “Fulham had a bit of a ‘welcome to the Premier League’ last weekend. They’ll be a little bit concerned after coming up, spending a lot of money but they just didn’t put their chances away and Palace did, that’s the difference between the two leagues. The Premier League is ruthless.

“You don’t want to get off to a start of played two, lost two because you’re behind the eight ball straight away. I think Tottenham will win this one but I still think Fulham will be all right.”
