Striker happy with decison to leave Spurs

Roman Pavlyuchenko - Tottenham Hotspur News

Roman Pavlyuchenko is confident he has made the right decision to leave Tottenham.

Pav, who was out of favour at the Lane moved back to his native Russia to join Lokomotiv Moscow on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Looking at his record of 42 goals in 113 appearances for us – you could say that Pav did a decent job.  However his workrate did leave him down on many occasions, he was never really the striker who would press from the front and close down play.

He has spoken of his desire on many occasions to play regular football ahead of this summer’s European Championship and he now looks to have got his wish.  We for one wish Pav all the best for the future.

“I was playing in a strong league, I enjoyed the game and I scored some important goals,” Pavlyuchenko told ITAR-TASS regarding his time at Tottenham.

“During the time I spent there, I developed as a footballer and I became more professional.

“I think all the decisions I have made during my career have been right. My decision to sign for Lokomotiv is not an exception.

“I could’ve stayed at Tottenham and dealt with meaningless things. My desire is to play. I decided, together with my family, that this is the best way.

“Lokomotiv are a top team and I want to help to reach the serious goals. This season it’s a reality to win the Russian title.”
