Lokomotiv Moscow have claimed that they will begin negotiations over Roman Pavlyuchenko in the upcoming few days.

The Russian striker was expected to return home during the January transfer window, with his agent admits that there is interest from Lokomotiv.

“In the coming days we will once again enter into negotiations about Pavlyuchenko,” Lokomotiv president Nikolai Naumov told the Russian press. “We need attacking players, especially a forward.”

Pav’s agent Oleg Artemov. He said: “Having the coach’s trust, the player’s performance and Tottenham’s qualification for the Champions League are three major factors why Pavlyuchenko has remained in England.

“Now we can say with confidence that he has adapted to the championship. Roman is ready to fulfil his contract. But to say there will be no more negotiations would be categorical and incorrect.

“Lokomotiv, judging by the words of (coach Yuri) Semin and Naumov, are going to sign a strong forward this summer – and will certainly not be averse to resuming negotiations on the transfer of Pavlyuchenko.”
