Jan Vertonghen’s injury-time winner continued Tottenham’s revival under Jose Mourinho.

The Belgian’s header completed a dramatic 2-1 win for Spurs to end the hosts’ eleven match Premier League unbeaten run.

Victory moves Spurs up to fifth in the Premier League, ahead of Wolves who now drop to eighth.

Mourinho’s has now won five of his opening seven games since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino and will have his aim firmly set on next weekend’s match against his former employers, Chelsea.

After losing to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge yesterday, fourth place Chelsea now have just a three point advantage over their London rivals in the table.

Spurs left-back Ben Davies, who is currently in Qatar as part of his rehabilitation from the ankle injury he sustained against West Ham (BBC) took to Instagram to post a photo along with a caption of ‘Super Jan’ to pay tribute to his team-mate.

Vertonghen had a tough afternoon at left-back against Wolves’ pacey winger, Traore but had the last laugh with his winner.
