Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Vincent Janssen has scored a goal this evening.

Janssen was named in the starting line-up for the Under 23’s in their Premier League International Cup match against Spanish side Athletic Club Bilbao.

The Dutchman has been featuring for Wayne Burnett’s side in recent fixtures to build his match fitness ahead of a potential exit from the club during the current transfer window.

It took just four minutes for the 24-year-old to find the back of the net after being played through by Anthony Georgiou and made no mistake with his close-range finish,

The goal was Janssen’s first in a Spurs shirt since he netted against Bournemouth at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on April 15th 2017.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already ruled out any possibility of Janssen breaking back into his first-team plans.

Here’s how some Spurs fans have been reacting to the goal.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Pochettino is the manager. He knows what’s going on behind the scenes. The ignorant know it all’s on Twitter DO NOT! Perhaps Pochettino sees him as a bad influence in the dressing room? Perhaps some of the senior players don’t want to play with him? Unfortunately we’ll never know the reason why Pochettino wont pick him, BUT HE MUST HAVE A VERY GOOD REASON NOT TO PICK HIM because of the absence of Kane, Son & Deli

  2. It’s an odd decision but clearly his mind has been made up and I rather suspect it’s definitely personal.
Hope Vinny gets a good move to a club that will give him a proper chance and he grasps it and rediscovers his form
