Pochettino on Winks and Vertonghen’s chances of facing Arsenal

Mauricio Pochettino has told the press that he is unsure whether Jan Vertonghen and Harry Winks will be in his squad to face Arsenal tomorrow.

Vertonghen missed the 2-0 defeat at Chelsea in midweek due to a hip problem he sustained in training in the lead up to the match, while Winks also picked up a similar issue during the encounter at Stamford Bridge.

The Spurs boss was asked at the pre-Arsenal press conference earlier today if either player has a chance of featuring in the North London derby and he was cautious with his response.

He revealed that his side are to train at Hotspur Way this afternoon and will make an assessment on the pair afterwards.

Spurs are already without the services of Dele Alli (hamstring) and Eric Dier (tonsillitis) for the clash at Wembley.

Victory for Spurs will extend their advantage over their rivals to seven points, while defeat will cut the gap to just one point.
