Portsmouth have described reports linking David James with a January move to Tottenham as ‘rubbish’.
The 39-year-old was reported to be keen on a switch to White Hart Lane during the next transfer widow, with a possible swap deal mooted for Carlo Cudicini. James has since been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Portsmouth’s Peter Storrie said: ‘It’s a load of rubbish, it really is.
‘David is under contract and it will be staying that way.
‘He’s happy and we are happy – David’s going absolutely nowhere.
‘We don’t need to sell him and we have no interest in doing so. People should ignore these rumours, that’s all they are.’

Thank the footballing gods that James is staying at Pompey! Cudicini and Gomes are much better keepers imo.
If SHOWTIME are seriously contemplating not showing the Tottenham v Stoke game live, some poor sod on the end of the telephone is in for a serious mouthful
What’s ‘Showtime’…..don’t tell me there’s an internet feed that’s actually watchable! Sounds too good to be true!
