Real Madrid are tracking Spurs star ahead of potential summer move – Journalist claims

According to ESPN journalist Rodrigo Faez, Real Madrid may attempt to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison as they look to add to their attacking options in the summer.

Richarlison left Everton for Spurs last summer in a deal worth a reported £60 million, with the player signing a five-year contract (Sky Sports).

The Brazilian has proven to be a popular figure in North London since his arrival, with both fans and his teammates forming a great bond with the 25-year-old.

An injury-plagued debut season for Spurs has seen Richarlison score just two goals and provide three assists in 19 games across all competitions, with no goals to his name in the Premier League yet (Transfermarkt).

A star turn at the World Cup for Brazil saw Richarlison take his international tally to 20 goals in 42 games, bagging three goals at the tournament in Qatar late last year (Transfermarkt).

It is these impressive displays at the World Cup that first led to rumours that Spanish giants Real Madrid were keen on Richarlison (Todofichajes), and those links appear to be surfacing again now.

Faez is the latest to suggest the player is being tracked by the La Liga side, and the journalist claims Madrid “want to strengthen the attack in summer.” He suggests Real Madrid now “follows the evolution of [Dusan] Vlahovic and Richarlison” as two possible options in the transfer market.

However, Faez adds there are “more options on the table” and that it will not just be attacking areas that Real Madrid look to work on in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I really cannot see us selling Richarlison just a year after signing him, and I cannot see Real Madrid paying us more than the £60 million we paid for him either.

He’s got a huge contract, has hardly had a chance to start his project at Spurs, and seems to really like it here. I would be stunned if anything came of this speculation.
