Report: Arsenal set to make improved offer to sign 24-year-old Spurs target

According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Arsenal have seen their initial bid for Tottenham target Ferdi Kadioglu turned down by Galatasaray and they are now readying a second offer for the left-back.

It has been widely reported over recent months that Tottenham are keen to strengthen at full-back, with Kadioglu thought to be one of the names on Spurs’ radar.

HITC claimed back in March that the Turk’s ability to feature in either full-back role is the main reason why Ange Postecoglou wants him, with the report adding that the Tottenham boss believes that the 24-year-old can adapt easily to the inverted full-back role.

However, a couple of days ago, journalist Sacha Tavolielri revealed that Arsenal had begun talks with Galatasaray over a deal for the defender and were keen on securing the player’s services.

Arsenal have offer turned down for Kadioglu

Milliyet have now offered an update on the Gunners’ pursuit of Kadioglu, explaining that they have scouted the player extensively this season and have been impressed by his displays.

The report claims that Arsenal’s opening offer of €20m (£17m) has been sent back by Galatasaray despite the left-back being keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

With Borussia Dortmund also circling over the player, Mikel Arteta’s men are now expected to return with an improved €25m (£21.3m) for the Turkey international.

It does not seem like Tottenham’s interest in Kadioglu went beyond the initial exploration stage. The fact that Spurs are letting Arsenal bid unopposed for the Galatasaray star suggests that they have turned their attention to other alternatives.
