Report: Emergency Premier League meeting could decide Tottenham’s fate

Premier League clubs will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss plans for the remainder of the season following the postponement of fixtures until April 3rd.

ESPN report that an FA spokesperson has informed them of the plans for a follow-up meeting which comes in the footsteps of the decision on Friday to halt the current competition. The objective of the meeting is discussto the fate of the season.

The decision came after Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta both tested positive for coronavirus (BBC).

There have also been other clubs who have been affected by the pandemic including Leicester City, Manchester City, and Everton.

The suspension of the English top flight has cast doubt over the fate of the remainder of the campaign.

The Daily Mail claim that some Premier League clubs are hopeful that they can fulfil the remainder of this season’s fixtures while other sides believe that it makes more sense to focus on the next campaign

West Ham are said to be once club who believe that the season should be scrapped, which would save them from a relegation battle.
