Report: European club looking to ‘postpone’ player’s sale as Spurs ramp up ‘pressure’

Primo Canale have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to push hard for Radu Dragusin but Genoa are trying their best to delay the centre-back’s departure until next summer.

Some reports have claimed over the last few days that even though Dragusin is expected to sign a new contract with Genoa, that does not rule out a potential January switch, with Spurs still said in the hunt for the centre-back (Fabrizio Romano – YouTube).

A couple of days ago, Spurs Web relayed a report from Calciomercato.it which claimed that Tottenham remain in ‘pole position’ ahead of Atalanta for the Romanian international.

The Itaian news outlet claimed that the 21-year-old was keen to play in the Premier League and suggested that it was a question of whether Spurs would ‘present the right offer’.

Genoa reluctant over January exit for Dragusin

Primo Canale have now also shed light on Tottenham’s pursuit of Dragusin, by reporting that the North London club are now ramping up the ‘pressure’ to sign the defender.

The outlet states that Genoa would like to ‘postpone’ any negotiations until next summer as they are keen to avoid ‘dangerously weakening’ themselves in their quest to preserve their Serie A status.

However, Tottenham are thought to be determined to conclude the deal next month, with Ange Postecoglou‘s side allegedly willing to pay €30m (£26m) for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on the reports over the last week or so, it seems like Tottenham have now settled on their top two centre half targets – Jean-Clair Todibo and Radu Dragusin.

It appears as if the Lilywhites will push ahead with a move for the Genoa player if they are not able to make progress in their negotiations with Nice for Todibo.
