Report: Everton move for right-back previously linked with Spurs

Everton are reported to be in talks with Lille for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Zeki Celik.

Jose Mourinho’s side have previously been linked with a move for the 23-year-old along with Premier League rivals West Ham United (Le10sport ).

Celik only joined Lille in the summer of 2018 from Istanbulspor and has gone on to become one of the best right-backs in Ligue 1.

The Turkish international provided three assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for Lille last season (transfermarkt).

Turkish Football claim that the Toffees have moved to the front of the queue to sign the right-back and have tabled a £13.5million offer while the French club are looking for £18million.

Tottenham decided against signing a replacement following Kieran Trippier’s departure last summer with Kyle Walker-Peters playing the first three matches of the Premier League campaign before suffering a hamstring injury.

The arrival of Jose Mourinho saw Serge Aurier installed as the club’s first choice right-back, however reports have surfaced linking him with a move to AC Milan (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Walker-Peters found himself out on loan at Southampton in January and has impressed on the south coast.
