The Telegraph have revealed that Julian Nagelsmann wants certain guarantees from the Tottenham hierarchy regarding the quality of the players he would be able to sign before accepting the job.
After it emerged that Nagelsmann had pulled out of the race for the Chelsea job, SportBild asserted on Saturday that the recently departed Bayern Munich boss wants to concentrate on talks with Tottenham.
The publication claimed that the track to take Nagelsmann to Spurs is now ‘hot’ as the German is ‘very tempted’ by the idea of taking over in N17.
Journalist Pedro Almeida went a step further and asserted that the 35-year-old is ‘ready to accept’ Spurs’ offer, with the North London club set to begin negotiations with Bayern Munich soon regarding compensation (since he is officially on gardening leave).
The Telegraph have now confirmed that Nagelsmann remains Tottenham’s first choice but the publication states that the German wants some ‘cast-iron assurances’ from the Lilywhites hierarchy.
This is said to include guarantees regarding the size of the wage bill and the quality of players he would be able to sign as part of the squad rebuild.

Tottenham have to pull out all the stops to get Nagelsmann.
They simply cannot afford to get their next appointment wrong and the German is clearly the best of the available candidates.
So, I suspect that the club will agree to the transfer demands that the former Bayern boss makes.
