Report: How the signing of Ndombele will impact Pochettino’s transfer plans

Mauricio Pochettino will have to wheel and deal in order to make further signings once he lands Tanguy Ndombele.

Sky Sports claim that the Lyon midfielder will undergo a medical in North London in the next few days before completing a deal for around £65million.

Mauricio Pochettino as given around 70% (£60/£65M) of the club’s windfall from the Champions League campaign that saw them reach the final of the competition and has decided to spend all of it on the French international (Sky Sports).

If he wants to bring in any other players he must sell some of his current squad before the transfer deadline in other to raise funds to re-invest.

Opinion

There are a number of players who could be considered surplus to requirements at Tottenham including Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Vincent Janssen while there is uncertainty over the future of Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Kieran Trippier and Fernando Llorente at the club.

If Sky’s claim is true, it would mean that should Spurs wish to splash out on the likes of Giovani Lo Celso it would mean that he would be a direct replacement for Eriksen.
