Report: Jose Mourinho keen to bring Gareth Bale back to Tottenham

Spanish news outlet Cuatro have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on a move for Gareth Bale.

The report suggests that Jose Mourinho wants to bring the Welshman back to North London with his situation at Real Madrid seeing him struggle for game time.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has claimed that Bale did not want to play in the Champions League last-16 second-leg tie against Manchester City and was subsequently left out of the squad (BBC).

Bale left Spurs to join the Spanish giants in a world-record transfer seven years ago and has gone on to win some of the biggest honours in the game.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett insisted last month that the 31-year-old has no intention of leaving Madrid with two years left to run on his contract and his happy living in the Spanish capital (BBC).

Every time this rumour rears its head, there is one main factor as to why this is unlikely to happen while he is still under contract at Madrid; his astronomical £600,000-a-week salary (Mirror).
