Report: Leeds looking to push through deal for striker attracting interest from Spurs

Premier League newcomers Leeds United are looking to tie up a deal for Wigan Athletic striker Sean McGurk, according to Football Insider.

Leeds are already said to have had a £30,000 bid rejected and are preparing a second offer for the financially stricken side.

Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to be keen on McGurk having been left impressed by his performances during Wigan’s FA Youth Cup campaign last season (Daily Mail).

The teenager has been tipped as having a big future in the game by club insiders at Wigan and it now appears that his future will lie away from the DW Stadium.

The Elland Road outfit have already secured a deal for McGurk’s team-mate Joe Gelhardt while Tottenham raided the Latics for central defender Alfie Devine after they were forced to sell after entering administration (The Sun).

Spurs have a track record of securing up and coming talent from the lower leagues having secured the signings of Dele Alli, Gareth Bale, Danny Rose and Aaron Lennon in years gone by.
