Emerson Royal may have given the strongest indication that he is on his way to Tottenham Hotspur after he began to follow the club’s official Instagram account.
Last season he played in 38 games for Real Betis in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists from the right side of their defence.
Spanish news outlet Radio Marca claimed earlier today that the 22-year-old has been left ‘hurt’ by his imminent transfer to North London because he did not want to leave the Catalan giants this summer.
The defender is expected to become Spurs’ fifth arrival of the summer transfer window following the previous signings of Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil, Cristian Romero and Pape Matar Sarr.
Emerson is said to have completed his Barcelona ahead of a £26million transfer (The Sun).
The defender is already following Giovani Lo Celso following their time together at Real Betis.

It would seem certain that Emerson is now on the verge of becoming a Spurs player, however it seems the club are now overstacked in the right-back department with Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty both expected to stay at the club beyond the current window.
