Report reveals why Serie A clubs are not interested in signing Spurs star

Football Italia have claimed that no Serie A clubs are willing to match Tanguy Ndombele’s salary at Tottenham, despite speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Italy.

Ndombele got a rare start under Antonio Conte in Tottenham’s FA Cup third-round clash against Morecambe on Sunday.

However, the midfielder’s performance left a lot to be desired and he was jeered by Spurs fans for trudging off the pitch when he was substituted in the second half.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Spurs are keen on moving the Frenchman on and are even willing to discuss a loan deal.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has said that a move to Italy or Spain could be on the cards for the former Lyon man this month.

However, Football Italia have now stated that Ndombele is ‘unlikely’ to move to the Serie A since no club in the division is prepared to match the Spurs man’s £200,000-a-week salary.

The report adds that Milan have already refused a swap deal involving Franck Kessie while Juventus have also declined the opportunity to exchange Ndombele for Weston McKennie.

While Roma are also thought to be after a midfielder, it is explained that Jose Mourinho’s men are set to loan Sergio Oliveira from Porto.

As I see it, a loan move away from Tottenham would be the only realistic option for Ndombele this month. Even if that materialises, Spurs might still have to subsidise a part of his salary in order to facilitate the transfer.
