Report: Sky contradict rumour on exactly how close Spurs are to striker deal

Speculation linking AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek with a move to Tottenham Hotspur grew substantially last night.

The Sun claimed that Spurs had agreed a £23.8m deal with the Italian giants which includes a further £4.2m in add-ons.

The report suggested that the Polish international was set to undergo a medical in the next 48 hours after agreeing a three and a half year contract with the Champions League finalists.

However, Sky Sports have claimed that a proposed transfer is not as far down the line as some may believe.

It is reported that talks between both clubs have been held but have not reached an advanced stage.

Sky suggest that a formal offer has not been made by Tottenham nor is it known whether a move would be on a loan or permanent basis.

Tottenham were yesterday dealt a significant injury blow with the news that Harry Kane will not return to training until April following his hamstring tear which has left the North London club short of attacking options.
