Report: Sources explain what concerned Nagelsmann about Chelsea amid Spurs links

The Daily Mail have revealed that Julian Nagelsmann pulled out of the running to become Chelsea manager because he had ‘serious concerns’ about the recruitment process.

Nagelsmann is also said to have been under the impression that the job was his if he wanted it and that talks were only a formality.

A sense of ‘unease’ is said to have grown over multiple meetings between Nagelsmann and Chelsea, not helped by the rumours linking other managers with the job.

Mauricio Pochettino is now widely expected to be handed the role of Chelsea’s next head coach, despite his strong ties with rivals Tottenham.

Meanwhile, SportBILD reported that Nagelsmann is keen to concentrate on talks with Spurs now, while Pedro Almeida went as far as to say that he is ‘ready to accept’ Tottenham’s offer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The main worry is that if Nagelsmann had concerns about stuff behind the scenes at Chelsea, he is hardly going to be impressed with Tottenham. Part of me thinks he may wait this out and see if Real Madrid or PSG come calling – and Spurs cannot afford to wait.
