Report: Spurs are still not sure about whether to keep or sell first-team player

Monday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have not yet made a decision on whether to offload Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in January.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Juventus are expected to step up their pursuit of Hojbjerg in January but there have been some contradictory claims recently about Tottenham’s stance on the Dane.

CalcioMercato claimed last week that the Lilywhites are not open to letting the 28-year-old leave on loan and are insisting on a permanent €30m (£26m) sale.

The report added that Juve are put off by the asking price, which is why they are also considering other alternatives to the Tottenham man.

However, Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Tutto Juve) suggested a couple of days ago that Spurs are willing to loan Hojbjerg to the Old Lady in January as long as there is an obligation to buy included in the deal.

Spurs not sure about whether to keep Hojbjerg

Gazzetta have now asserted that Tottenham are ‘not yet sure’ if they want to ‘deprive’ themselves of Hojberg in January.

The report states that Spurs are considering keeping hold of the former Southampton man until next summer, adding that the player’s performances over the next few weeks could be key in their decision.

Tottenham’s main concern would be the fact that they would lose both Bissouma and Sarr during the African Cup of Nations. Postecoglou would not want to offload Hojbjerg before first bringing another midfielder through the door.
