Report: Spurs considering surprise cut-price move for striker

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a surprise £2million move for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll.

The Sun are reporting that Spurs are mulling over a move for the England international who is out of contract with the Hammers in the summer.

Tottenham are currently without the services of Harry Kane until at least early March and are unable to call upon Heung-min Son until potentially February 3rd, if South Korea make it to the final of the Asian Cup.

Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking options were dealt another blow when Dele Alli picked up a hamstring injury late on during the 2-1 win at Fulham yesterday.

The report claims that Spurs could offer Carroll an eighteen-month contract if Pochettino decides to bolster his attacking options before the window closes this month.

Carroll, 30, has struggled with injuries throughout his career which have limited him to just 93 starts for West Ham in six-and-a-half years at the club.

Fernando Llorente made a rare start in the match against Fulham but failed to impress.
