Report: Spurs facing ‘complications’ in pursuit of top managerial candidate

According to a report from Football.London, Tottenham are facing complications in sealing a deal for their top managerial target

There have been some major developments over the last few days that could potentially have an impact on Spurs’ pursuit of a new manager.

Reports indicate that the North Londoners could try to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to the club, with the Argentine’s future at Paris Saint-Germain looking uncertain.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with the Spurs job after parting ways with Inter Milan.

However, Football.London have claimed Spurs have already settled on the top candidate who they want to appoint.

It is explained that the club are currently in the process of hammering out an agreement to get their man but the North Londoners are facing ‘complications’ in reaching an agreement with the candidate’s parent club.

While there is no mention of who the candidate in question is, the report did reveal that Pochettino is not being considered for the role at the moment. However, FootballLondon have since updated fans that Spurs have indeed held talks with Pochettino.

If Tottenham are having complications in agreeing on a deal with their top candidate’s parent club, then that rules out a move for Conte, who has left Inter by mutual consent. I suspect Graham Potter could be the candidate being referred to as he has a long-term contract with Brighton.
