Report: Spurs follow Chelsea with interest in Serie A winger

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have joined Chelsea in the pursuit of Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato claim that the Ivorian international will be at the centre of a transfer tug of war between the London rivals in the summer.

Boga is also attracting interest from across Europe with Borussia Dortmund and Valencia also said to be keen on landing the 23-year-old.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho is said to be keen to bolster his options in the attacking third of the pitch after watching his squad become decimated by injury.

The Portuguese has been without the services of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and more recently Steven Bergwijn through injury while the likes of Erik Lamela have endured another season riddled with time on the treatment table (transfermarkt).

Boga came through the Chelsea academy before the Stamford Bridge outfit decided to sell him to Sassuolo in 2018.

Along with being to play on either wing, Boga is also comfortable at operating in a more central role by playing behind the striker.

He has scored eight goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for Sassuolo this season whilst having provided four assists (transfermarkt).
