Report: Spurs-linked defender said to be on the verge of Monaco move

Monaco are reported to be on the verge of signing rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Mohamed Simakan.

France Football, claim that the Strasbourg central defender could complete the switch before the weekend.

Monaco are said to have made a £13.5million offer for the 20-year-old who has three years left to run on his current deal after losing Benjamin Henrichs to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

Simakan has been linked with move to both Tottenham and Everton in recent times along with rumoured interest from Spain and Italy (RMC).

He made 25 appearances in all competition last season for the French club (transfermarkt).

SpursWeb Opinion

Tottenham may have lost Jan Vertonghen earlier this month when his contract expired, but they have also gained a central defender in Eric Dier after the England international made the positional change from central midfield.

We already have Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and Juan Foyth, another central defender should not be our main concern at this time.
