Report: Spurs may make two major replacements this summer – Including Conte

Sky Sports have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are not just planning on replacing their head coach but are also considering bringing in a new sporting director to replace Fabio Paratici.

While discussing the candidates that Tottenham are evaluating to replace Antonio Conte, The Athletic revealed on Tuesday that Paratici’s future might have a bearing on the club’s decision.

The publication explained that Daniel Levy only decided to appoint the Italian as the managing director of football back in 2021 once it became clear that he would not be able to bring Pochettino back to the club at the time.

The report stated Paratici might be jeopardising the power he has built up at the club if Pochettino returns as the 51-year-old would take the Italian’s place as the ‘charismatic king of the training ground’.

Sky Sports have now suggested that the former Juve director’s days at the North London club might also be numbered.

The report explains that Tottenham are planning for the contingency that Paratici’s 30-month suspension as part of Juventus’s false accounting scandal might not be overturned on appeal.

Levy and co have allegedly done their due diligence recently on sporting directors who could potentially replace the 50-year-old.

It sounds like Levy is only planning on replacing Paratici if his ban is not overturned, which is understandable.

The Italian’s signings, on the whole, have proven to be quite astute.

The only other reason to part ways with the 50-year-old would be if he and the club do not agree on who the next head coach/manager should be.
