Report: Spurs prepared to allow defender to leave for just £2.5m

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be prepared to part company with Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer if they receive a bid of £2.5million.

Football Insider claim that the 22-year-old was valued at £5million by the North Londoners last summer and dropped their valuation to £4million in January and is now available for the cut price fee.

Carter-Vickers spent the second half of last season on loan at Luton Town and played his part on helping the Hatters to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Luton are said to be keen to bring the USA international back to Kenilworth Road but Tottenham’s valuation along with the central defender’s wage demands are likely to pose a problem.

Carter-Vickers is considerably down on the pecking order at Tottenham with Toby Alderweireld, Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez all preferred by Jose Mourinho.

Luton were 10 points from safety in February but dragged themselves up the table with just three defeats in the 15 games Carter-Vickers started (transfermarkt).
