Report: Spurs will have to battle Man Utd to land highly-rated prospect

Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Manchester United for the signature of Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The highly rated right-back has proven to be one of the most promising defenders in European football after his impressive first full season with the south London side.

His displays for Palace have seen him rumoured to be on the radar of Gareth Southgate’s England side, despite him having Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier at his disposal.

According to a report in the Daily Express, the 21-year-old’s form has attracted the attention of rival clubs including Spurs and United but the defender is under contract until 2022.

Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier have both failed to make the right-back position their own at Spurs this season with a number of inconsistent performances which could force Mauricio Pochettino to look elsewhere.

United are said to be keen on Wan-Bissaka as a replacement for 34-year-old Ashley Young.

He made 30 Premier League appearances this season, providing two assists.
