Report: The latest on Tottenham’s chase for £60m-rated forward – Willian Jose

According to several reports, Tottenham are in talks with Real Sociedad for striker Willian Jose, as Jose Mourinho seeks to bring in a replacement for the injured Harry Kane.

Here are the latest updates to the breaking news regarding the transfer:

The Sun reported yesterday that Spurs were interested in signing the Brazilian striker but Spanish newspaper El Diario Vasco claimed that Real Sociedad wanted Spurs to pay Jose’s full £60 million release clause if they wished to sign him.

Many of the well respected online pokies believe that Jose was the ideal player to help fill the goalscoring burden at the club.

Real Sociedad then confirmed that the striker had asked to be withdrawn from their squad to face Espanyol yesterday evening as he wanted to seek clarity on his future.

That sent the rumour mill into overdrive as Sports Carousel first revealed that Spurs were on the verge of agreeing a €50 million deal to sign Jose while nz casinos also reported that Spurs were in advanced talks.

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare, however, insisted that the Lilywhites are unlikely to sign the Sociedad striker this month.

Romano has now reported in the Guardian that talks are still on-going between Spurs and Sociedad and that a decision will be made on the striker’s future soon after Spurs refused to pay his release clause.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even in the win over Norwich, it was clear that we were missing an out and out striker. I believe Willian Jose is a perfect fit for the profile we are looking for. He is brilliant in the air and can hold the ball up well. I believe the 28-year-old will help give us a different dimension and could be a useful option to have even when Kane is back.
