Report: Tottenham aiming to complete deal for Chelsea forward this week

Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to complete a deal for young Chelsea forward Jude Soonsup-Bell this week, according to Football.London.

The forward turned 19 earlier this month and despite having been at Stamford Bridge for the past seven years, he has decided to move on in order to have a better pathway to first team opportunities (The Athletic).

Clubs from across Europe and the Premier League have been monitoring Soonsup-Bell’s situation and it now appears that Spurs have made their move before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The forward is out of contract at the end of the season and Tottenham’s plans for the teenager would see him form part of the academy set-up for the remainder of the campaign before looking to head out on loan for some first-team experience during the summer.

Chelsea’s academy have continued to produce top talent, even in previous years where they have been reluctant to blood them into their first team. Tottenham on the other hand, have not had a steady stream of talent who are ready to force their way into becoming first-team regulars.

Even the likes of Oliver Skipp have seen their progress stutter this season, which is a shame since he was tipped to go onto bigger things after his loan spell at Norwich a couple of years ago.
