Report: Tottenham face competition for highly-rated striker

The summer transfer window may have only recently closed for Premier League clubs, but the work behind the scenes continues on targets for January and beyond.

Spurs were active in the market for the first time in two transfer windows with the recruitment of Tanguy Ndombele, Jack Clarke, Giovano Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.

With Fernando Llorente having departed the club following the conclusion on his contract, Spurs have lost a back-up to Harry Kane.

According to The Sun, Tottenham officials have been keeping an eye on QPR striker Eberechi Eze.

The 21-year-old has scored once in four appearances in the Championship this season for Mark Warburton’s side (transfermarkt).

Spurs look likely to face competition from fellow Premier League side Southampton who sent their director of football operations, Ross Wilson to take a closer look at the forward during their 3-1 defeat to Swansea City.

There has been somewhat of a resurgence in Spurs looking to sign promising young talent with the capture of Clarke, Sessegnon along with 17-year-old forward Kion Etete who joined the academy set up from Notts County in the summer.
