Report: Tottenham may now have competition from Serie A for David Raya

Inter Milan are growing increasingly concerned that they will lose goalkeeper Andre Onana amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, and the Italian side may now turn their attention to Tottenham target David Raya as a replacement.

Tottenham are making finding a new number-one goalkeeper a priority this summer, with Hugo Lloris‘ time in North London appearing to be at an end. The Frenchman recently admitted he is ready for a new challenge (Nice-Matin).

It is thought Brentford stopper David Raya is the top target for the Lilywhites, and personal terms have already been agreed between Spurs and the player (Fabrizio Romano).

All that remains is to arrange a transfer fee with Brentford. The Bees want £40 million for Raya but Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly reluctant to pay that much (Telegraph).

Inter Milan are interested in Spurs target David Raya

It has been suggested this hesitation could pave the way for other clubs to swoop, and now Inter Milan have joined the queue for the highly-rated 27-year-old according to The Guardian.

Apparently, Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana is being targeted by both Chelsea and Manchester United. Should Onana leave the club this summer, that could have a negative domino effect on Tottenham‘s plans to sign Raya.

Due to financial issues, Inter are likely to be “forced to sell” their star keeper this summer if an offer comes their way. Chelsea and Manchester United are both believed to have “registered an interest” in Onana.

In light of this development, Inter have already “inquired” about the situation surrounding Raya’s future, which could put a spanner in the works for Spurs.

I feared this would happen and the fact we cannot just meet a player’s valuation and get a deal over the line could well cost us dearly again.

We are so close to bringing Raya to the club and we need to just get it done now before other clubs move in.
